Frances Gray
Senior Developer
I am a Senior Developer for Consol and LPG. I am working on enhancements and bug fixes across ConSol and Legal Panel Gateway.
As of 2022, I am very new to Yarris, having only started a few months ago.
I studied Computer Science at RMIT before working in government for a little while in Canberra. I then spent many years working as a developer for a business intelligence product, while also attempting my own education-based start up on the side. I started down the management path of IT in the past few years but have decided to come back to a more technically-based role.
I hope to be more involved in the future with building intuitive and beautiful user interfaces, continuing to use my skills in data visualisation while also working towards automating software to limit the amount of needless human intervention.
I love that every day is currently a challenge and exploration. I am learning about the two systems I am now working on as well as absorbing the code behind them.
I find most challenging about any role in software is keeping up to date with current technologies and innovations, the industry never stops moving.
I became a programmer by falling into it. Originally I wanted to be a teacher, but then fell in love with programming after an IT subject in high school. I saw Computer Science as an option at university and thought it sounded interesting, so I went with that.
In my spare time I like to do non-technical things. I’ll read, garden or spend time in the kitchen cooking.
